Mark Sorensen
President
Since 1996, Mark has worked in various orthopedic sales and management capacities within Illinois and Indiana. His experience started with the regional Smith & Nephew DonJoy agent. By 1998, Mark was leading key account activity throughout Chicagoland. His rapid success in this area allowed him to acquire Illinois and Indiana distribution rights for DonJoy, as well as other leading manufacturers of orthopedic medical equipment.
With more than13 years of orthopedic industry experience, Mark has demonstrated his exceptional talent at putting together and motivating cohesive, dedicated teams. Since 2007, MioMed Orthopaedics has conducted business in three states, representing three major manufacturers, and over 20 sales and support staff.
Mark holds two degrees from the University of Michigan.
In 1991 he earned a bachelor’s degree where he was also a four-year letter winner for the U of M Hockey Team, and a Masters in Business Administration from Michigan’s Ross School of Business in 2005.
Michael Wegmann
Territory Leader- South/Southwest Suburbs and Northwest Indiana
Michael is a graduate of St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. While attending St. Norbert College Michael was a four year varsity hockey player for the school’s Top-Ranked Division III program and also double majored in Business Management and Economics.
Michael joins MioMed with more than ten years of sales experience, most of which he gained within the Financial Services sector where he owned and managed his own financial consulting firm before selling his company to begin a new career in medical sales.
Michael lives in Chicago with his wife Jennifer.
Chuck Earnest
Territory Leader-Western Suburbs
Chuck is a Certified Athletic Trainer and 2006 graduate of North Central College in Naperville.
While attending North Central College, he was a four year letter winner in football. He was a 2005 unanimous All-Conference selection and part of a team that reached the post season for the first time in over 40 years. After graduation he joined the Sports Medicine staff at Northwestern University in Evanston as a Certified Athletic Training Intern, assisting in football and baseball. Chuck joined MioMed as a Field Account Manager in September 2007 and moved on to take over his own sales territory in May 2008. Chuck lives in Carol Stream, IL and in his spare time he is an assistant wide receivers coach at North Central College. When football season is over and if time permits, he also works as a registry Athletic Trainer for Provena St. Joe's Hospital in Joliet.
Josh Ross
Territory Manager - Northern Suburbs
After completing 4 years of active duty service in the United States Marine Corps, Josh graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 2004.
Throughout his academic career he contributed to the studies of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) at Massachusetts General Hospital and steroid abuse at Northeastern University.
Prior to becoming a Territory Leader with MioMed Orthopaedics Josh served as Research Operation Manager for the Belfer Institute of Applied Cancer Science at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
As a Certified Personal Trainer he has maintained his passion for fitness and athletics. Josh played soccer almost his entire life and now enjoys running in road races, mountain biking, and strength and conditioning training.
Josh currently lives in Chicago's Lincoln Park with his fiancee Emily.
Mike Knapp
Sales Associate - South/Southwest Suburbs and Northwest Indiana
Mike is the most recent addition to MioMed, joining the team in November 2008. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2003. After graduation Mike moved to Arizona where he gained five years experience working in rehabilitation, as well as experience as a Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser. He returned to Illinois in August 2008 and currently lives in Chicago with his wife Nicole. In his free time he enjoys mountain biking and hiking.
Colin Zuber
Sales Associate
Colin Zuber is a Certified Athletic Trainer, graduating from Illinois State University in 2007. Upon graduation, Colin was selected as an Athletic Training Intern for the Chicago Bears during pre-season workouts,training camp, and for 1 game during the 2007-08 regular season. Before joining the MioMed team in January 2009, Colin worked as a Sports Performance Coach training youth, high school, and collegiate athletes in speed & agility, strength & conditioning, and nutrition. He is a native of Pana, Illinois and while in high school Colin played football and ran track. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, boating, and being involved with anything outdoors.
